Tri-League of Women Voters is holding its annual Kickoff Breakfast. Enjoy a delicous buffet breakfast at the scenic Bluewater Grill, followed by a speaker on "Immigration: Policies and Issues." The speaker is Dr. Irene Vasquez, Division Head for World Cultural Studies and Chair of Chicano-Chicana Studies at CSU Dominguez Hills.

All LWV Beach Cities members are invited to enjoy a delicious potluck lunch and participate in the state program planning meeting. We will be deciding what our recommendations and priorities are for the state League's positions for 2007-09.

Join in a rally to educate the public and support universal health care for all Californians. Stay for part or all of this event. There will be a clown with puppets and balloons for the children.

LWV of Los Angeles County Convention.
League leaders from throughout L.A. County meet for the 45th Annual LWV/LAC Convention to elect officers and directors and decide on program for the coming year.
The luncheon speaker, Geraldine Knatz, Ph.D., Executive Director of the Port of Los Angeles, will speak on "From Ship to Shelf." Dr. Knatz administers and implements the policies of the Board of Harbor Commissioners. She will give an update on subjects such as the new "green" ships, the future of trade at the port, port security, and funds for environmental mitigation.
